BEEP! BEEP! IT'S ME.

"Begin at the beginning, and go on till you come to the end: then stop." (Lewis Carroll, 1832-1896)

Alice came to a fork in the road. "Which road do I take?" she asked."Where do you want to go?" responded the Cheshire cat."I don't know," Alice answered."Then," said the cat, "it doesn't matter."

"So long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation. "Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."

"All right," said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone. "Well! I've often seen a cat without a grin," thought Alice; "but a grin without a cat! It's the most curious thing I ever saw in my life!"

I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe. Like Arthur Dent from "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy", if you do not have a Babel Fish in your ear this blog will be completely unintelligible to you and will read something like this: "boggle, google, snoggle, slurp, slurp, dingleberry to the power of 10". Fortunately, those who have had the Babel Fish inserted in their ear, will understood this blog perfectly. If you are familiar with this technology, you will know that the Babel Fish lives on brainwave radiation. It excretes energy in the form of exactly the correct brainwaves needed by its host to understand what was just said; or in this case, what was read. The Babel Fish, thanks to scientific research, reverses the problem defined by its namesake in the Tower of Babel, where a deity was supposedly inspired to confuse the human race by making them unable to understand each other.

"Rumsfeld Bites The Dust"

My reaction to the news that Donald Rumsfeld resigned.

Memorable Rumsfeld quotes: -

"I would not say that the future is necessarily less predictable than the past. I think the past was not predictable when it started."

"We know where they are. They're in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat." – on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction (Where were they again exactly? )

"I believe what I said yesterday. I don't know what I said, but I know what I think, and, well, I assume it's what I said."

"Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know." (The ultimate dance in order to avoid saying anything.)

"There's another way to phrase that and that is that the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. It is basically saying the same thing in a different way. Simply because you do not have evidence that something does exist does not mean that you have evidence that it doesn't exist." - on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction (Tsk tsk and people fell for that too.)

"I don't do quagmires."
"I don't do diplomacy."
"I don't do foreign policy."
"I don't do predictions."
"I don't do numbers."
"I don't do book reviews." (Sure you will.)

Sadly, the removal of one man and the loss of both Houses does not get rid of the menace of the Bush Administration.

However, I believe it makes a strong case for why Australia should never become a Republic. Cheers!

Even Lieberman called for him to step down.

His replacement is an Iran-Contra criminal.

You hear the stuff that comes out of his mouth and you think, "How did he last THIS long?!"

One down, a bunch more to go...

I don't know as I believe that he believes what he said he thinks he believes, so I'll just assume that he thinks he knows what he's talking about.

Of course, that's despite overwhelming evidence against that proposition.

Sounds like a rather bad copy of Socrates.

Socrates:

"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing"

"One thing only I know, and that is that I know nothing."

"I know I am intelligent, because I know that I know nothing."

RE under:

I agree that those quotes have similarities. (with a qualification of course)

Rumsfeld is no socrates.

And I don't agree with Socrates either. :)

Hey, loosen up a bit there. I just saw the quotes, they sounded like someone trying to copy socrates, and I posted a comment on them.

If you do not wish me to post on your blog in the future then by all means please just ask.

I respect your wishes and do not feel to be welcome here. You seem to believe that no matter what I say you have to counter it. Just because I am a Christian and you are an atheist does not me that we cannot agree on anything or have a nice conversation.
